The World’s First Airport Cannabis Dispensary Plans To Open This Summer

The world’s first airport cannabis dispensary could open this summer at the Denver International Airport (DIA). The DIA is the fifth-busiest airport in the country and ranked as the 20th busiest airport in the world.

Denver’s airport has already established itself as a sturdy cannabis market. Airport officials have been working with the city’s cannabis industry to find a way to open a dispensary at the airport.

“We are excited to partner with the airport and provide an additional option for passengers,” said Jay Wilcox, CEO of M.J. Freeway.

“We know that many people are looking for access to quality cannabis products while away from home, and we believe our dispensary will offer a high-quality experience.”

M.J. Freeway will operate the DIA dispensary. The company has been working in dispensaries across the state of Colorado since January 2017.

Denver is one of eight U.S. airports that have been granted licenses to operate cannabis dispensaries. The other airports are Chicago O’Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles International, Miami International Airport, New York JFK airport, and Orlando International Airport.

The DIA dispensary will be the first of its kind at an airport in the United States. There are already several cannabis-related businesses located close to international airports across Canada and Europe.
